Dishwasher not draining, leaving dishes dirty, or leaking under the door? We repair Bosch, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, Frigidaire, and Samsung dishwashers across Rocky Mount and Eastern NC. Drain pumps, control boards, spray arms, inlet valves, and door latches are stocked on the truck.
A broken dishwasher means hand-washing dishes — a frustration that compounds daily. We see dishwasher calls spike in Rocky Mount after holiday seasons when machines run more cycles and stress more components, and we maintain dishwasher-specific parts inventory year-round. Our technicians are trained on both North American platform dishwashers (Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, Frigidaire) and European-designed units (Bosch, KitchenAid, Miele) which have meaningfully different architectures and failure modes.
The two most common dishwasher failures in Rocky Mount are drain pump failure (machine fills with water but won't drain) and wash pump failure (machine runs but doesn't clean). Both are same-day repairs when parts are on the truck. Bosch drain pumps and KitchenAid wash pumps are among the parts we stock in the most volume.

Standing water in the bottom of a dishwasher after the cycle ends almost always means a failed drain pump or a clogged drain filter. Start with the filter — it's a basket at the base of the tub that catches food debris. Remove it (usually twists out counterclockwise), clean it under running water, and reinstall. Run a wash cycle. If water still stands after the cycle, the drain pump itself has failed. Bosch drain pumps are especially prone to this failure between years 5 and 8 of service. We stock them for same-day repair. Total repair cost: $135–$215.
Dishes that come out dirty or with food residue still attached usually point to one of three issues: clogged spray arm holes (the holes get blocked by mineral deposits or food particles), a failed wash pump (can't build sufficient water pressure to clean effectively), or a failed water inlet valve (machine isn't filling with enough water). Check the spray arms first — remove them and rinse each hole under running water. If they're clear and dishes are still dirty, call us for a wash pump or valve diagnosis.
Bosch dishwashers are among the most common brands we service in newer Rocky Mount homes. Bosch uses a European platform with different component architecture than American-made dishwashers — in particular, their circulation pump and drain pump are combined in a single motor assembly on older models. We have Bosch-specific training and stock Bosch pump assemblies, door latch mechanisms, and control boards. Most Bosch dishwasher repairs are completed in a single visit.
Rural Nash County households on private wells have significantly harder water than Rocky Mount city water customers. Hard water mineral deposits — primarily calcium carbonate — accumulate in spray arm holes, water inlet valves, and the interior of the tub over time. If your dishwasher is leaving white film on dishes, cloudy glassware, or mineral deposits on the interior walls, hard water is the root cause. Running a citric acid cleaning cycle monthly and using rinse aid consistently will slow deposit accumulation. When the inlet valve or spray arms have already clogged, call us for service.
